How can we help you?

DeftEdge helps ensure organizations meet ethical standards and objectives on a range of issues, such as economically empowering women and refugees through access to finance and markets and mitigating the impact of climate change on vulnerable communities. (WFP, FAO, Pact, ActionAid, UNHCR livelihoods partners)

AIMS successfully completed a framework agreement (with two extensions) to provide training in results-based planning, management and evaluation to Sida’s Research Partners. Over 100 missions were conducted to more than 30 countries.

The contract involved supporting over 80 of their research partners, many of whom worked on climate-related themes, to develop strategic plans, logical frameworks, monitoring/reporting processes and evaluation plans. Assignments involved initial remote consultations to assess needs, in-person facilitation of 2 – 5-day training workshops (which had RBM as a major focus), follow up support and feedback conducted remotely on draft plans, and often a second (and sometimes third) multi-day in-person workshop to provide further support and mentoring. The number of participants and number of organizations varied – from small groups of 15 participants to assignments with up to five different organizations and up to 80 participants. SIDA’s partners were primarily located throughout Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and Latin America and the Caribbean. They included a broad range of national, regional, and global institutions with wide variation in knowledge and understanding of such planning processes, as well as capacity to implement such processesAs such, even though DeftEdge had developed a core set of training materials, each assignment was carefully tailored to the context as well as the needs and type of organization(s).
