Mikhail Paltsyn is an evaluation specialist with over 30 years of international experience. He has thematic expertise in sustainable development, climate adaptation, wildlife conservation, and capacity assessment. With a doctorate in conservation biology and project management certification, his work has significantly contributed to projects in numerous countries across Europe, Africa, and Asia. Throughout his career, Paltsyn has been involved in various high-impact roles, serving as an international consultant for multiple organizations, including GEF, GCF, UNDP, UNEP, etc. He has led workshops on RBM, theories of change and results frameworks and has worked on multiple projects using the LORTA approach. Fluent in both Russian and English, Paltsyn’s linguistic skills enable effective professional communication across diverse cultural contexts. Furthermore, his varied expertise across remote sensing, GIS techniques, statistical, and modelling tools has enabled him to contribute to climate adaptation planning and capacity assessments across countries such as Angola, India, Mongolia, and the USA.
